For this week’s Local Shop Feature we spoke with Paige Plaisance, owner of Ramblin’ Rose Boutique located in Austin, TX. Now you’re probably thinking Ramblin’ Rose is a regular store front… WRONG! The Ramblin’ Rose Boutique is located in at 1720 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX in a 1972 Airstream trailer. Sounds fun right? Since opening the shop in April 2017, Paige has found a way to express her creativity in the form of clothes and a creative shopping experience. She is not only able to voice her own creativity but inspire others to do so as well! The Ramblin’ Rose customer ranges from men and women at any age. While the shop’s focus is on ladies, men do shop the store from time to time. There is such a diverse range of customers that Paige encourages customers to mix their clothing and accessories within different styles to create a personalized look. The purpose of Ramblin’ Rose was to create a place where people like Paige can go to relax and browse for treasures that you won’t find anywhere else. Paige’s main passion is music so you will see an assortment of t-shirts with her favorite bands and musicians in store. Such as this David Bowie t-shirt! Paige says, “My favorite thing about retail and clothing is the feeling I get when I LOVE what I am wearing. Your clothing can make you feel more confident and I love to see confident women loving what they are wearing. If I can inspire that confidence, then I will be happy.”
While the Ramblin’ Rose Boutique doesn’t have an online shop, you can always shop their Instagram @ramblinroseco! In the Austin area? Stop by and take a look inside the 1972 Airstream trailer shop! Happy Thanksgiving week! When I dress for Thanksgiving my top concerns are comfort and am I going to be uncomfortable in my outfit after I stuff my face. I think I’ve addressed those concerns below with a few options. I still like to dress up so I would suggest a festive flowy dress. Plenty of room to eat, comfortable, and still dressy. You can pair this with a pair of low booties or even a pair of comfy heels! Around the holidays I always go with a long sleeve dress for added comfort and warmth. Another way to stay comfortable is with leggings. Probably most people’s go to. However, there’s ways to spice them up! For example these camel suede leggings. Pair it with a sweater and some heels, booties, or flats.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Nicole DeMore, the retail buyer and manager of the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Located at 2000 Spindrift Drive in La Jolla, California, LJBTC was established in 1935. The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is a beachfront resort as well as a private membership club with a shop on location! The company and its members are very focused on tradition and memories of time spent at the club. A large percentage of members are families and live within walking distance of the club so they are there often. In such a beautiful place like La Jolla, can you blame them? In continued tradition, many other customers are resort guests who have been coming to the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club for years. The LJBTC has evolved over the years to accommodate their members, visitors, and employee needs. They now carry everything you can think of: logo wear and gifts of course, fashion-forward brands heavy on beach fashion, basic amenities and snacks needed for a stay in the hotel or a day at the beach, sunglasses, jewelry, sunscreen, bags, beauty product, beach toys, basic tennis equipment, etc. Nicole’s emphasis is on their customer feeling welcomed and relaxed to enjoy looking around and adding to their experience there – and if that means they buy something to take home and continue enjoying their memories, even better!
Can’t make it to their shop? Follow them on Facebook and Instagram or send them an email and Nicole will ship something your way! You can also shop online at: www.Ljbtctennisshop.com It has been a while since our last blog post! We’ve been traveling and gearing up for holiday market. It has felt like the longest summer (we’re definitely not complaining) but we can feel the holidays around the corner! With the holidays comes the cold weather, and with the cold weather comes chapped lips and cracking skin. A few years back I came across EiR NYC. I met Jun, EiR’s Founder, and fell in love with each and every one of the products. They are one of the current brands that we offer through The Pigment Group. The product I use most is their lip balm - currently I am using their Ski Balm as the weather gets colder into the holiday season. There are three kinds: “Baby Lips”, “Cooling Lip Balm”, “Ski Lips”. Each of them are all natural, made with minimal ingredients to offer you the purest recipe for your lips. For the harshest elements this winter, I highly recommend Ski Lips which contains SPF 50. Want more info? Just send us a message. we're happy to help!
Phew! We’ve had a crazy few weeks here at The Pigment Group! If you’ve been following on our instagram, facebook and twitter (you should!), you’d know we were enjoying the festivities of “Swim Week” and “Cabana”down in beautiful Miami last week. One of our favorite trade shows of the year is Cabana. Why, you ask? Multiple reasons: for starters it is in beautiful Miami, there are coconuts, there are an endless amounts of swimsuits and it’s on the sand of sunny South Beach! What more can you ask for? We met some amazing people and were able to see some of our favorite brands, along with new ones. Talking about fun things to see, Pared sponsored the show with the release of a brand new style called the Lime & Coconut. I’m sure you LOVE them as much as we do. These guys will be available mid-October. EiR NYC also sponsored the show with a signature scent. Have you smelt their stuff yet?! It’s amazing. I am addicted to my essential oils. And we’re not the only ones who think so. EiR did a fantastic job keeping the show smelling delightful every step we took. We also paid Artesano, ban.do, and Retromarine a visit multiple times throughout the show. We even picked up a brand new hat and tote bag! Aside from Cabana we were able to see the Lolli Swim and Acaia shows! There were so many more amazing shows that we didn’t get a chance to see but the ones we did, we loved! The Lolli Swim models were even wearing Pared Eyewear! Think cotton candy, lollipops (of course), bikinis, and a lingerie debut. Need we say more? Check out our Instagram for a video of more of the show, a photo doesn’t do it justice. Next up! Acacia Swimwear. Their show was amazing! The venue included. The show was on an open parking garage; cool or what? Not to mention, their swimwear is everything we love and more! Finally, we made our way to Wynwood. We’ve never been and loved it! We visited Concrete Bungalow. Such an awesome mens shop with a woman’s swim pop up right now. They even have a ping pong table in the middle of their store, go play a game and shop for some new Retromarine swim trunks. We ended on a fabulous note: with food. Someone had suggested the Wynwood Diner and thank god we went. They have everything including a wild duck hash, an amazing atmosphere, and even wifi. We were pleasantly surprised. Stay tuned on where we’re headed next! We’ll see you next year down in Miami!
As always, wishing you beachy vibes and sunny skies We took over the One Woman Shop Instagram on Saturday! In case you weren't able to follow along we've recapped our day for you! It was day one of Cabana so we had an amazing time filling everyone in our schedule. We started off with our intro. I talked a bit more about myself and starting The Pigment Group (more of this to come!) and then dove into the day. See below for pictures and recaps! We had such a great time sharing our day with the One Woman Shop following! When running a small business sometimes it gets tough and you can feel alone. It's also hard not to get down on yourself when some thing doesn't go as planned. It brings piece of mind to know there are so many other solopreneurs out there!
To learn about more "One Woman Shops" and their journey's don't forget to follow our friends over @onewomanshop. Here's a question for you: What would you rather spend your hard-earned money on?
all OF our money on clothes. The point of this article is to start to realize the things in your life that make you feel good/ happy. We realize this can be many things including friends, food, and family but today we chose to focus on one thing; clothes. Retail therapy. Ah, sweet retail therapy. Ever have a bad day that was made better by a hot new purchase? We have. Whether is that pair of sunglasses that fit the frame of your face perfectly, that new pair of jeans that fit you just right, or any item that makes you feel good on the inside and outside. We get you. No, the solution isn't to go out and spend crazy amounts of money every time you are feeling sad (unless you have the bank account to do so). The intention is to look at shopping as a form of therapy. The kind of therapy everyone needs. The ability to feel good. Clothes empower you to tell a story. The ability for a person to define themselves through fashion. Empowering. Try it. You WILL thank us (just don't make it a habit rather something you exercise every once in a while). Now take a look at some of our favorite must haves that will have you feeling good as hell! STATE OF ESCAPE - ESCAPE BAG IN NAVY/CORAL PHOTO CREDIT: WWW.STATEOFESCAPE.COM.AU
We are obsessed with this bag! It's made of neoprene mesh and even folds up into a little pouch. Can it get any better?! Perfect for traveling and the beach. PARED EYEWEAR - CAMELS & CARAVANS HAVANA/CLEAR PHOTO CREDIT: WWW.PAREDEYEWEAR.COM.AU These sunnies will definitely get people talking. The two-tone and color fade are huge right now in eyewear and this style is unisex so it works for everyone! It's basically a win-win. WOLFFER ESTATE - DRY ROSÉ CIDER PHOTO CREDIT: WWW.STORE.WOLFFER.COM This cider will definitely have you feeling good as hell. not everything leading to happiness has to be accessories or clothing, sometimes alcohol works just fine too. That we can guarantee ;) And under $20 for an entire case! ![]() Our first blog post (ahhh!) I can't believe it's finally here. To introduce myself, my name is Gina LaRochelle and I am the Founder of The Pigment Group. When I started freelancing two years ago I never thought it would grow into what the The Pigment Group is today. I started off with one brand and now have seven brands and growing! It hasn't been easy, and there has definitely been (and still is) a lot of hard work, money, and long hours that get poured into this. But I absolutely love what I do and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Wondering what it is exactly we do? That's my most common question I get asked and the reality is there's no straight quick answer to it because we do it all! We help brands from all of over the world, big and small, find their way where they're lost or need some extra help. Hence our description: creative business support in the places you don't have the time to think about. Running a company is tough and you're often spending your time worrying about big important obstacles happening now and coming up in the future. But there are so many other things that are equally as important happening at the same time that just get put on the back burner when all you really need is just an extra hand. That's where we come in. We help you identify where you need help and help you! Now while The Pigment Group is most relevant to retailers, business owners, entrepreneurs, start ups, and more -- I hope that we can relate our posts and marketing to anyone. So stick around because who knows what might be next! As always, wishing you beachy vibes and sunny skies. Best, G ![]() Welcome to Pigmented View! A blog dedicated to you, you beachy, boozey, eyes hurting so much that you wear sunglasses from dawn to dusk person. Yeah you, the same person who will sit on the beach all weekend, and then grind at work Monday to Friday just so you get out early on your summer Friday to sit in traffic as you chase the endless summer beach weekends. And yes, you, the same person who thinks going to the gym is a runway show, and calls yourself a cyclist because you do one spin class a month, but look hot doing it. So welcome! Welcome to Pigmented View, as we wander our way through our confused and jumbled lifestyle, loving every second of it! |
