It's a tough time for millennials. As the largest population in the U.S. today, millenials are often referred to as the most confused generation - compelling marketers to throw out the old rules and start testing new ones. With an increasingly uncertain future ahead, and plenty of unrealistic lifestyle demands, it can be hard to keep up with Insta-fueled appearances.
Here's our guide to surviving today's millennial demands:
1. Don't Skimp On Your Health
We know that money matters - and the 20s and 30s are often the most financially unstable point in a person's life. Nevertheless, it's important to put your money where it's most effective long-term, and you should never skip out on your health. Besides eating healthy and exercising regularly, you should also keep up with doctor and dentist checkups, and always be aware of your mental health. Lifestyle stressors are a known cause of restlessness and sleep loss, which can come with a slew of other side effects, so it's best to prioritize the number one thing affecting your overall health and wellness - you.
2. Budget, Budget, Budget
Financial literacy is one of the most vital life skills one can learn, and will carry over to just about everything you do in life. By setting yourself reasonable budgets and monthly goals for your income and expenses, you won't feel so overwhelmed by financial worry. If you have a student loan or credit card debts, plan early to set aside money each month to help pay them off. Once you know what you're up against, you'll be "adulting" in no time.
3. Travel Cheap
Traveling is transformational. Experiencing different cultures, foods and ways of life first-hand is an eye-opening and mind-expanding journey that doesn't have to break the bank. If you're itching to hop a plane and find yourself, there are plenty of strategies to travel on a budget. Taking advantage of flash flight sales, loyalty programs, public transportation and hostel accommodation are all great ways to save money on the road. If you have extended vacation time, you can even look into volunteer programs where you exchange labor for room and board.
4. Treat Yourself
Millennial burnout is real. Between financial debt, an unstable job market, the precarious state of the economy, and endless expectations, it can be hard to carve out time to simply enjoy life. But setting aside the time and resources for fun and games is essential to living a happy and healthy life. Keeping up with all the demands of a 20- or 30-something lifestyle can be overwhelming, so don't forget that these should be some of the best years of your life - full of adventure, personal growth, pleasure and reflection. Go hiking, learn to paint, splurge on skin-care products and make the most of it!
D. The Rockaway Candle Co "8oz Candle and Match Set" : $22, everyone loves candles. Whether it be to set the mood or improve yours.
E. Urban Outfitters "Rosie Tufted Throw Blanket": $69, snuggle with your gal pal or your honey under this cozy throw.
F. NailSnaps "OMG EKG!": $19.99, these nail wraps are salon quality that can be applied in minutes! No mess, no toxins, and no dry time. Perfect for your bestie. And don't forget matching nails for yourself!
G. Gemmed "Pink Heritage Signet Ring": $38, the cutest accessory in hypoallergenic nickel and lead-free brass metal, pink enamel detail.

It's been a while, but we're back with our Local Shop Features! This week we're featuring The Rockaway Candle Company and Founder, Morgan Mack. First we have to start off by saying, we LOVE her candles. If you've ever been to one of our pop up shops you've most likely smelt these as we've been carrying them for a bit.
The Rockaway Candle Co was founded in 2016 by accident. Morgan wanted to try something new and give unique gifts to friends and family during the 2015 holiday season. She never intended it to become a booming business! When more friends and family and even stores started asking for them, she knew she could turn her hobby into a business.
Morgan says, "The Rockaway Candle Co customer is someone who enjoys being a homebody, who loves to stay home and get cozy with candles and home fragrances that are nostalgic and organic". Isn't that basically all of us?!
Some more about the candles: They are homemade and hand poured by Morgan herself in Rockaway Beach NY. • The wax is 100% organic soy wax grown in the USA. • The Jars are made and assembled in the USA • Their fragrance oils are perfume grade, essential oils, and have zero harmful chemicals. • Finally their wicks are constructed from natural flat cotton threads, and are lead and zinc free.
We don't know about you but this all makes us want to run home, get in our favorite sweatpants, and burn one of their candles.
While The Rockaway Candle Co's journey is just beginning, I think it's safe to say that they'll definitely be growing in the coming years. Morgan hopes to be in over 100 stores across the country and running her own small warehouse with a few employees in the next 5 years. The Rockaway Candle Co story is such an inspiration and shows that you really can do what you love. Don't be afraid to turn your hobby into a business, you never know who will be just as passionate about something as you are!
You can find The Rockaway Candle Co on our "SHOP NOW" page. Use the code "TRCCO" for 20% off your candle order! You can also find out more on: www.therockawaycandleco.com
Trust us, you'll love them just as much as we do.
Memorial Day Weekend is the kick off to the summer. In case you missed it, The Pigment Group opened their very own pop up shop at Calissa restaurant in the Hamptons! We made it for the Avenue Magazine party featuring Sailor Brinkley on the cover. It was great to be a part of the event and share some of our amazing brands.
Especially, Eir NYC which was featured in this month’s issue! The Hydration Hero was featured in “Summer on the Rise: Necessities for Color and Care”.
We had some other great brands with us as well. Such as Pared Eyewear, a shop favorite! Pared had their core styles there for display. Some of the best sellers were signature styles: Pools & Palms and Charlie & Angels. You can shop these via our site!
Also featured was the new brand: Mrs. Jones! These dresses definitely made an impact with the crowd. They’re super comfortable but fashionable and work for every body type! Not to mention they are women owned, designed, and produced! You can also shop these via our site: Use the code BLOGPOST for 20% off!
SIE Swim was our swimwear line featured which can be worn on and off the beach. These pieces have great detail and features that set them apart from other swimwear brands. SIE fit right in and made the perfect compliment to NIBI MTK. NIBI MTK is designed and founded by Kristin Sheeler a Montauk resident who specializes in unique designs in tunics, maxis, cover-ups, vintage clothing, designer jewelry and beach accessories.
Some other brands featured at the shop were: Montauk Surf Co - sweatshirts, tees, and hats for men and women; FIN Montauk - prehistoric shark teeth that are dipped in 18kt gold and made into necklaces, rings, even cufflinks and more! Art by Laura Pawson - you can shop her artwork here. Pigment Candles by The Rockaway Candle Co - these come in two sizes and are hand poured 100% natural soy wax candles. You can shop these ONLY on www.thepigmentgroup.com. Use code BLOGPOST for 20% off your order.

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY: PELOTON REVIEW
It’s been a while since you’ve last heard from us. And we’re sorry it’s been so long! We’ve been working, planning, traveling, changing our diet, and working out! With that said, I thought a fun blog post for our debut back would be a great place to start!
So I purchased a Peloton bike exactly one year ago today. And cannot say anymore positive things about it. This not a sponsored post or an ad this is 100% true feedback. This bike has changed my life. I love spinning and classes but I am often never in one place at any given time and it’s hard to stick to one studio. I purchased the bike with hopes that I could save some money - not paying a monthly cycling studio fee or even paying $30+ a class, it adds up!
What I love most about the bike is that no matter how much time I have, there is no excuse! There are 5 minute, 10 minute, 20, 30 and so on classes that you can take. The options are endless. Not feeling up to spinning today? Take a “Beyond the Ride” class where there is anything from yoga to pilates to just a simple stretch.
While the bike may seem intimidating to start at $2,000 - you can finance for 1 - 2 years at 0% APR financing. That’s what I did! What I suggest is read the reviews on site. So many are proclaiming the same thing I’ve said “this bike has changed my life”. I wanted to write a post about it because I get so many questions about my Peloton. I’ve even gotten some other friends to purchase the bike too! Interested in getting one of your own? Send us a message for a small incentive :)
Spinning not your thing? That’s OK, we’ve got some other workouts to share coming soon!
In the spirit of Holiday parties, we’ve compiled our top 2 winter cocktails! Enjoy!

Holiday Themed Parties!
I don’t know about you, but the colder it gets outside, the less I want to leave the house to do anything! With the holidays approaching there’s more to do than the classic holiday cocktail party with friends and family or even co-workers. Here’s some ideas on what to do instead:
Ornament decorating - Get some friends together and purchase some plain ornaments for everyone. You can find some at Michaels here. Then supply everyone with some paint, glitter, stickers, etc. the options are endless! Throw in some cocktails and food, you’re sure to have a good time. Everyone then goes home with their own party gift to display for holidays to come.
Host a “cookie night” - I do this every year with my mom, her best friend, and my best friend. We each bring our own cookie dough and make at least 2 types of cookies each. All the while drinking wine and eating pizza of course. When it’s all over we each go home with boxes of Christmas cookies just in time for our other holiday parties!
Ugly sweater party - This is a personal favorite! It turns into a big laugh when you see all of your guests come in with the ugliest holiday sweater they can find. Once everyone is all together you can vote on who has the ugliest sweater. Winner gets a prize! It’s guaranteed to bring in laughs and some great photo opportunities.
Tried these options? Send us your photo, we’d love to see and feature!
